Cavern Course
The first step
The cavern diver course is offered to advanced open water divers who wish to improve their diving techniques, skills and knowledge. It is also the first step towards becoming a full cave diver. It introduces divers to the world of overhead environments and is a great course to learn techniques to improve buoyancy, environment awareness and learning skills like working with reels and laying lines.
Diving in an overhead environment forces you to learn many new skills and techniques.
Course Outline
Requirements:
Advanced Open Water certified
At least 18 years of age
Have a minimum of 25 logged dives
Duration:
Minimum 3 days which includes at least 8 hours of lectures, at least 1 confined water session and no less than 4 cavern dives.

Course Content:
Theory
Land drills
Confined water session
Cavern dives
Final exam (to pass you must obtain at least 80%)
Course Limits:
Always staying within the daylight zone with an unobstructed exit clearly visible
Maximum depth of 130 ft (39 m)
No decompression diving
Maximum of 4 student per instructor
Includes: Gear rental, tanks, air (not Nitrox), transport to the dive sites (not Hotel pick-up) and entrance fees to the cenotes.
